Welcome to the Glenn County 4-H Animal Ethics Training!

Online Ethics certification is required for everyone taking Glenn County 4-H animal projects. All 4-H members enrolled in an animal project area are required to complete the online Ethics Training Presentation once during the current 4-H year in order to complete the required Glenn County 4-H Council Fair Participation Rules. Who is required to complete this certification?

The Training video and completion survey must be done if you are enrolled in one of the following projects: beef, dairy, dogs, goats, dairy goats, pygmy goats, horses, avian, rabbits, cavy, sheep, and swine. 

Why must 4-H exhibitors complete this ethics training?

By completing this training video, you will learn what is expected of livestock exhibitors when raising your animal and getting ready for fair. You will learn: 

  • The benefits and purpose of animal projects.
  • Requirements while caring for animals.
  • Safe and allowable uses of animal medications.
  • Local and State Rules and Regulation for exhibiting and selling livestock.
  • Proper animal requirements for nutrition, management, environment, safe handling, and transportation. 

Completion Survey

Members who don't complete the training and completion survey before the Fair Participation Report deadline on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 will not be able to participate in the Glenn County Fair. Viewing the video will not count on your fair participation report unless you have also submitted the completion survey below. The UCCE Office will have the list of members that have submitted the completion survey and will verify the dates with the dates turned in on the Fair Participation Report to the UCCE Office.
