Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) 2022 Research Grants Program Applications Due 12/9/2021

Dear Colleagues,

The Department of Pesticide Regulation, Research Grants Program is accepting applications for the 2022 funding cycle.  

The PDR Research Grants Program provides funding annually for projects that develop pest management practices that reduce the impacts on public health and the environment of pesticides of high regulatory concern and/or are considered to be high-risk, through the development and enhancement of integrated pest management (IPM) systems.The program supports research projects that advance integrated pest management (IPM) knowledge in wildland, urban, and agricultural settings.

The 2022 Research Grants Program has received $3.75 million in additional funding to support the state's goal of transitioning to system-wide adoption of sustainable pest management.  

Due to the increased funding available, the Program will award eligible projects with budgets ranging from $50,000 to $3.75 million.  

Please note these additional important points:

  • The Research Grants Program application process has been modified from a two-step application (Concept Application and Proposal Application) to a new simplified one-step application process (Proposal Application only). DPR will no longer be accepting Concept Applications.
  • Proposal Applications will be accepted through Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 5:00 pm PDT.
