More than 130 Glenn County 4-H members took advantage of the opportunity to participate in the Glenn County 4-H Livestock Challenge held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Plaza Elementary School, reports Community Education Specialist Christine Kampmann. Lisa Humphreys and Shauna Strickler of Lake 4-H Club were the adult committee chairs of Lake 4-H Club. Thank you to all our adult volunteers who helped room coordinate and tabulate the Livestock Challenge tests: Kendra Beams, Stephanie Andrews, Jen Milne, Jacklyn Stokes, Lisa Humphreys, Shauna Strickler, Raquel Taveras-Costa, and Lindsey Lifur.
Primary participants received a participation ribbon and certificate; they were Jackson Pool of the Willows 4-H Club, Eli Pinedo and Madison Lifur of the Lake 4-H Club, Chloe Goss and Kate Goss of the Schaffert 4-H Club. The rest of the winners are as follows: SWINE: Junior Division – 1st Place- Joseph DiMaggio of the Willows 4-H Club, 2nd Place- Emma Rodgers of the Schaffert 4-H Club, 3rd Place- Kamilie Flower of the Willows 4-H Club. Intermediate Division – 1st Place- Thomas DiMaggio of the Willows 4-H Club, 2nd Place- Katelann Caldwell of the Willows 4-H Club, 3rd Place- James DiMaggio of the Willows 4-H Club. Senior Division –1st Place- Joeleen Exner of the Plaza 4-H Club, 2nd Place- Korben Guerrero of the Stoney Creek 4-H Club, 3rd Place- Mia Shipley of the Willows 4-H Club. The overall species winner was Joseph DiMaggio of the Willows 4-H Club. BEEF: Junior Division – 1st Place- Taylin Groteguth of the Lake 4-H Club, 2nd Place- Lea Deniz of the Schaffert 4-H Club, 3rd Place- Cinch Lopez of the Lake 4-H Club. Intermediate Division winners were 1st Place- Bobbie Davis of the Lake 4-H Club, 2nd Place- Health Douglass of the Schaffert 4-H Club, 3rd
