4-H FOOD FIESTA & CREATIVE ARTS & SKILLS DAY RESULTS
Approximately 10 Glenn County 4-H members participated in the annual 4-H Food Fiesta, Creative Arts & Skills Day held Saturday, April 14, at the Hamilton High School Cafeteria in Hamilton City, reports Glenn County 4-H Program Representative, Alyssa Perry. Chairpersons for the event were Jackie Gonzalez, Key Leader of the Orland 4-H Club and Marci Sanchez, Council Home Ec. Vice President. Members from Orland 4-H Club, also assisted with the event. The County Ambassador Team members: Carson Karle, Kenzie Eddy, Viviana Olmos, Jakob Munguia and Sarah Mendonca and past alumni: Garrett Otterson and Sheyenne Munguia, assisted with the event, along with their advisor Landry Otterson. The 4-H members brought many wonderful food dishes and beautifully crafted centerpieces and displays to be judged. They were also required to set a proper table setting and provide a nutritionally-balanced menu.
All primary members (5-8 years old) received participation medals and certificates. They were: Xiomara & Abimeleck Gonzalez- Capay 4-H Club; Mellanie van Tol - Schaffert 4-H Club. Junior Division Gold Medal Winners were: Xitlali Gonzalez - Capay 4-H Club. Intermediate Division Gold Medal Winners were: Claire Boles – Lake 4-H Club. Senior Division Gold Medal Winners were: Alison Kochems – Schaffert 4-H Club.
There were several 4-H members competing in the commodity category receiving special awards with their food dishes. Those awards were beautiful gift baskets donated by California Olive Ranch, Chic
