Here is some information for those affected by fire. Sorry for you losses!
Attached is a quick fact sheet on what to expect on rangeland after fire. This fire is likely to be a combination of grassland and brush burns, even within the same ranch. Note, the results of each burn type will be different. Grassland fires this late likely will have minimal benefit of action. Brush burns can be helped. More detail is in the attachment.
Thanks to TCCA recording the training for the Ag Pass in 2021, we are able to grant passes quickly. These passes are for commercial livestock producers only. We can have a pass completed within a day usually. If you need updates to your current pass, give us a call and we can make those changes with the Ag Commissioner.
There are many FSA program that can possibly help replace internal fences, forage lost, and livestock lost. The link below describes several programs, but my advise is to contact the FSA office directly to learn more about potential programs for you. The most important thing is that some of these programs require notification to FSA within 30 days of the disaster. This notification is as simple as making a phone call and letting them know you are part of the disaster. The Tehama County FSA number is 530-527-2667 ext 2.
