-Fire Information-
Aug 1, 2024
Here is some information for those affected by fire. Sorry for you losses!
Attached is a quick fact sheet on what to expect on rangeland after fire. This fire is likely to be a combination of grassland and brush burns, even within the same ranch. Note, the results of each burn type will be different. Grassland fires this late likely will have minimal benefit of action. Brush burns can be helped. More detail is in the attachment.
Thanks to TCCA recording the training for the Ag Pass in 2021, we are able to grant passes quickly. These passes are for commercial livestock producers only. We can have a pass completed within a day usually. If you need updates to your current pass, give us a call and we can make those changes with the Ag Commissioner.
There are many FSA program that can possibly help replace internal fences, forage lost, and livestock lost. The link below describes several programs, but my advise is to contact the FSA office directly to learn more about potential programs for you. The most important thing is that some of these programs require notification to FSA within 30 days of the disaster. This notification is as simple as making a phone call and letting them know you are part of the disaster. The Tehama County FSA number is 530-527-2667 ext 2.

WATER MEASUREMENT AND REPORTING CERTIFICATION COURSE
Mar 1, 2024
Do you divert more than 10… or more than 100 acre feet of water?
Senate Bill 88 requires that all water right holders who have previously diverted or intend to divert more than 10 acre-feet per year (riparian and pre-1914 claims), or are authorized to divert more than 10 acre-feet per year under a permit, license, or registration, to measure and report the water they divert.
For diversion or storage greater than or equal to 100 acre feet annually, the installation and certification of measurement methods must be approved by an Engineer/Contractor/Professional. This course allows you to save this cost by being certified to carry out this process yourself. In addition to instruction, printed materials covered by the course fee will provide you with the notes necessary for installing and reporting your measurements to the state water board.

Sep 11, 2020
Foothill abortion vaccine available:
The foothill abortion vaccine developed by Dr. Jeff Stott’s lab at UC Veterinary Medicine is now available commercially for purchase. Hygieia Biological Laboratories in Woodland is both producing and distributing the vaccine. Aministering the vaccine will take coordination between your veterinarian, Hygieia, and your own schedules so preparation three weeks in advance is important. Click here to learn more.
