The purpose of 4-H Youth Development is to help diverse young people discover and develop their potential and grow into competent, contributing, and caring citizens. Learn by doing activities, youth-adult partnerships, and research-based educational programs help young people enhance their leadership abilities and develop a wide range of other life skills.

Glenn County maintains a large 4-H program, which includes 10 clubs, 150 adult volunteers and over 550 youth. All 4-H leaders are volunteers who give their time to provide leadership and training to youth ranging in age from 5 to 18.  Members showcase their talents at the Glenn County Fair, where sheep, goats, rabbits, beef, pigs and chickens are shown and sold. Home Economics and crafts are also represented, and 4-H'ers win many ribbons with their projects.

The Glenn County UCCE Office would like to send a warm welcome to our new 4-H Youth Development Program Representative, Alyssa Perry! We are very excited to have Alyssa in our office. She brings experience in the UC system and a wealth of knowledge.
